Cornish Maine Wedding Photographer // Britnee & Nolan // Moose Lake Lodge, Otisfield

Britnee and Nolan first met on Tinder in early 2018. Britnee had to be convinced by a friend to meet Nolan since she was not a huge fan of online dating. Good thing she did!

They got engaged on 5/3/21. They had been staying with their friends in Massachusetts and decided to go hiking at Maudslay State Park. Nolan had asked Britnee if she wanted to change into regular clothes, but she opted to stay in her pajamas instead, which consisted of an oversized Ozzy Osbourne t-shirt and some sweat pants. While hiking, they had taken a break by a river and that’s when Nolan turned to Britnee and said, “ I have a question…” Britnee then realized what was happening and cried a lot before saying yes! Even though it was hard for her to get that one simple word out, it was the easiest question for her to answer since she had known early on in their relationship that Nolan was the one!

On the morning of Britnee & Nolan’s wedding, I pulled up to Moose Lake Lodge and was greeted by Nolan and Britnee’s closest friends and family working hard at putting the finishing touches on their wedding decor. Britnee’s mom laid out the flowers and other fall decor around the ceremony site. It all looked so cozy and pretty.

The girls all helped each other get their hair and makeup done. Britnee even did her own lashes. It was very impressive, but apparently she does it all the time! The girls all looked fabulous!

Nolan put on his suit. It was totally different than anything I had ever seen a groom wear. His suit was ivory in color and he wore olive accents. He had a hat that also matched his suit perfectly. He was ready for the first look in no time!

The time had come for Britnee to put on her dress. All of her girls pitched in. Her mother zipped her up, while her sister helped button up her sleeves. Her dress looked like it was made for her. It had the most amazing lace sleeves. She finished up by putting on her jewelry and shoes.

Britnee’s father was waiting at the bottom of the deck stairs to do a quick first look before we got to Nolan. Her dad cheated a bit and turned around before we told him to. I just think that he was super excited to see Britnee and forgot about all of the “first look” rules that we had told him! Both he and Britnee cried, but just for a second so she didn’t make her makeup run!!

Next I walked her to the lake where Nolan was waiting at the end of the dock. She slowly walked up behind him and tapped him on the shoulder. He turned around and immediately started to tear up. The look on his face was priceless. They both hugged and cried. It was an amazing first look.

Britnee and Nolan tucked themselves away inside the house after a short bout of family formals. It was time for the guests to find their seats and for the ceremony to begin.

The music started and everyone made it down the aisle. Nolan tried to hold back tears as Britnee walked toward him. Britnee made her way down the aisle with her sister still holding up the train of her dress all the way to the end. That’s dedication!

The ceremony was short with both Britnee and Nolan saying their vows to each other and exchanging of the rings. It was so sweet. There wasn’t a dry eye in the house.

Everyone went inside while we stayed back and did Nolan and Britnee’s formals. We stayed right on the front field because it has the most perfect golden hour light. We lucked out at their engagement session and at their wedding with the most perfect weather and lighting.

Next it was out on the back deck for toasts and food. The toasts were both really funny and definitely worthy of a few tears. Everyone there did such a wonderful job of honoring Britnee and Nolan. It was literally a perfect wedding. The night concluded with food and drink and, of course, dancing!
