Cornish, Maine Wedding Photographer // Meredith & Brandt's Bear Mountain Inn Wedding
Meredith & Brandt first met as undergrads in upstate NY. With Meredith being from New England, the goal was to move back at some point. That’s what landed them here in Maine. With their love for New England, Brandt planned to propose in the beautiful town of Woodstock, VT. He planned a full winter weekend ending in a proposal outside of the inn that they were staying at. Of course, Meredith said yes!
I first had the chance to meet Meredith & Brandt in person at their engagement session at the Bear Mountain Inn where they were getting married. They brought along their dog, Milo, who is the best behaved dog in the history of dogs! Their connection was apparent form the second that I met them! I knew immediately that their wedding was going to be a lot of fun!
The wedding day started with me grabbing some details shots of the shoe, invites, rings and the dress, while the girls got pampered. My second shooter for the day, Caitlin, went with Brandt and his friends to capture their shenanigans. I hung the dress while the florist and one of Brandt’s groomswoman set up the flowers. The barn was already starting to come together and looked amazing!
I went back with the girls. They were just finishing up, while Brandt and his grooms-people messed around and had fun while Caitlin took their group pictures!
It was finally time for Meredith to put on her dress. She chose to have a private moment with her mom to help her with the dress and then do a first look with her girls afterwards. I loved their reactions and Meredith looked stunning!
After a brief first look with Meredith’s father, stepfather and grandfather, it was time to get ready for the ceremony. Their guests had already started to arrive as I made my way down to the ceremony site. It was an amazing, sunny summer day. They could not have asked for better weather! Everyone found their seats and the wedding party made their way down the aisle. Remember how I said that their dog, Milo was the best behaved dog ever? Well he was the ring bearer. He ran down the aisle to greet Brandt and Meredith there. He took his treat for being a good dog and was handed off to his dog sitter. Brandt’s groomsman officiated their wedding. It was so awesome to hear all the stories that he had to tell about the couple! Then just like that, they were married. They made their way back down the aisle in a sea of confetti!
Then after a few toasts, the party was kicked off by Brandt playing a song for Meredith on his guitar. It went directly into their first dance, which was an incredibly choreographed number. This opened up the dance floor for all of their friends and family. It was an amazing party!
We wrapped up the evening with sunset portraits. I have to say that this year has been the year for epic sunsets and I couldn’t be happier about it! Meredith and Brandt laughed and joked around as we did their formal portraits. They are just such a fun couple! Their wedding is going to be hard to top!
