Maine & New Hampshire Family Photographer // Fall Family Photos at the Farm: Yeah, It’s Basic… But Damn, It’s Beautiful
Alright, I know fall family photos might feel a little basic on the surface — like “throw on your flannel and pretend you’re not sweating while sipping cider” kind of basic. But hear me out: fall at my farm? It hits different.
Like… real different.
This isn’t just some pumpkin patch you found on Google. We’re talking golden hour peeking through yellow leaves. A gravel road that glows like it’s been kissed by the photo gods. Woods that I can transform with lights to give you that next-level moody, magical (oops — badass*) storytelling vibe. It’s basically my real-life version of a movie set, just with more dogs, less stress, and no one yelling “action.”
The light? Amazing.
The way the golden light hits at the beginning of peak foliage — especially through the ferns and trees — it’s unreal. There’s this tiny window of time where everything just lines up perfectly: the trees still holding onto their yellow leaves, the ferns looking lush, and the sun dipping low enough to wrap your family in the warmest glow without blinding you like a deer in headlights.
It’s warm, it’s cozy, it’s effortless. And because it’s at my farm, we can roam. We’ve got space. Gravel roads, open fields, woods that turn into something straight-up cinematic with the right light. This isn’t a mini session mill or a shoot where we have 10 minutes to pretend you’re relaxed. This is a full-on experience where your kids can run around, your partner can loosen up, and you can just exist while I document all the good stuff.
Fall sessions at the farm are kinda epic.
So yeah, fall family photos might be a popular thing. But around here? They’re personal. They’re full of movement, laughter, and those tiny moments you didn’t know you needed captured.
No fake pumpkins. No staged hay bales. Just your real, beautiful family — in real, beautiful light.
And maybe a dog or two popping in to say hi. Because, ya know, farm life.
