Maine & NH Wedding Photographer | Stop Comparing Your Wedding to Six Figure Weddings
Alright, real talk time, no fluff, no Pinterest-induced delusion.
Those weddings you see on Pinterest and splashed across Vogue? Yeah… those are six-figure weddings. Like “there’s a planner for the planner” kind of budgets. Custom everything. Imported flowers. A lighting bill that costs more than your car.
And here’s the thing: there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. But there’s also nothing wrong with not having that budget. The problem starts when couples compare their very real, very human budget to a wedding that basically had a small production crew and a trust fund behind it.
Wedding envy is sneaky. It makes you feel like your day needs more stuff to be worthy. More flowers. More rentals. More nonsense. Suddenly you’re stressed, overspending, and forgetting why you’re getting married in the first place. (Spoiler: it’s not for the chairs.)
Have realistic expectations. Be honest about your budget. Take it from this old broad, it’s not worth blowing your home’s down payment. Spend your money where it actually matters to you. The best weddings I’ve photographed weren’t about excess—they were about connection, intention, and people actually having a damn good time.
Your wedding doesn’t need to look like Vogue.
It needs to look like you.
And trust me—that’s the good stuff.
