Maine & NH Family, Boudoir, Wedding & Newborn Photographer // I Tried to Niche Down… But I Just Love It All

Here’s the truth: I tried to niche down. I really did. Every photography business coach and marketing podcast out there that I have ever spoken tonpreaches the gospel of “pick your niche and stay in your lane.” And I totally get it. Specializing makes sense. It makes your website cleaner, your messaging sharper, your SEO happier, blah blah blah.

But you know what makes me happy? Shooting what I love. And the thing is… I love a lot of things.

I’m not just a wedding photographer.

I’m not just a boudoir photographer.

I’m not just a moody portrait artist with a love affair with golden hour light and badass vibes.

I’m all of that. And I like it that way.

Weddings? Oh hell yes.

Weddings are like my Super Bowl. Fast-paced, high-emotion, beautiful chaos. It’s storytelling on steroids, and I live for it. Every wedding is different — and I don’t just mean the color palettes or the venues. I mean the people. The real moments. The nervous hand squeezes, the tears behind sunglasses, the dance floor that gets a little too wild.

This is where I get to flex my documentary muscle and my creative brain. It’s full-body photography. And it keeps me sharp.

Boudoir? Yep, that’s part of my soul.

Let me tell you — boudoir is where my heart really softens up. This isn’t about lingerie and sultry stares (though, yes, obviously). It’s about transformation. It’s about seeing someone walk into the studio unsure and walk out like Beyoncé after a stadium tour.

I’ve seen more healing, power, and joy in these sessions than I can describe. And I’ll never stop shooting them. This kind of work isn’t optional. It’s necessary.

Families? You bet.

I used to think family photography wasn’t my thing… and then I started actually doing it my way. On mountaintops. In blueberry fields. On farms and front porches and anywhere we can chase light and let kids be chaotic little weirdos (with love).

It’s not about stiff poses and forced smiles. It’s about connection. It’s about the in-between stuff — the way your kid hugs you when they forget there’s a camera, or the way you and your partner look at each other when you’re not even trying. That’s the stuff I live for.

Portraits? Always.

Give me some interesting light, a face with some character, and a little creative freedom, and I’m in my happy place. Portraits are like my playground. I get to experiment, push shadows around, and create images that feel real — not polished and perfect, but true.

So yeah… I do it all.

I’ve tried to choose one path, but every time I do, I feel like I’m cutting off a piece of myself. And I don’t want to be the kind of artist who leaves pieces behind just to fit into a tidy little niche box.

I shoot what I love, and I love what I shoot.

The thread that ties it all together? Storytelling. Real, emotional, honest storytelling. Whether it’s a wedding, a boudoir session, a family adventure, or a moody portrait — it’s all about connection. And I’ll never apologize for chasing that in as many ways as possible.

So if you’re here wondering what kind of photographer I am — the answer is simple:

I’m the kind who follows her gut. And my gut says, “Screw the rules. Let’s shoot it all.”
