Maine & NH Engagement Photographer | Katie & Win | Fort Williams, Cape Elizabeth
Katie and Win’s engagement session at Fort Williams was one of those “this is why I love my job” kind of days… even though it almost didn’t happen as planned. We had to reschedule two days before because Maine decided to do its thing and dump snow. Honestly? Best decision ever. Fresh snow > everything.
When I rolled into Fort Williams, the park was alive. Kids flying down the hills on sleds, people bundled up, that crisp winter air that slaps you awake in the best way. The whole place had this fresh, just-reset vibe with a clean coat of snow covering everything.
Katie and Win showed up and we immediately started our adventure. We kicked things off in the back gardens, which honestly don’t get enough winter love. Even though the grass and flowers were brown and dormant, they looked insanely cool against the snow and overcast sky. Moody, textured, very much my jam. Katie and Win were laughing, hugging, walking down the path like they forgot I was even there. That’s always the goal.
The lighthouse, was the exact reason they chose Fort Williams. And listen… the holiday wreath was still up, fully lit, just casually being perfect. So obviously I added some lighting, framed them up with the lighthouse in the background, and boom. Done. Absolute perfection without trying too hard.
We wrapped things up at the beach, because yes, apparently snow + beach is a thing now. It sounds ridiculous, but it always works. They popped alcohol-free champagne and beer, clinked cans, laughed a lot, and fully leaned into the moment. Cold fingers, big smiles, zero complaints.
Katie and Win are just genuinely fun humans. Easy, funny, down for whatever, and clearly obsessed with each other. The kind of couple you want to hang out with long after the camera’s put away.
Snow reschedule? Worth it. Fort Williams showing off? Always. Katie and Win? Nailed it.
