Maine + NH Wedding Photographer | Morgan & Chris | Pumpkin Patch Engagement Session
Morgan and Chris are one of those couples that just get each other—the kind of duo that can go from heartfelt to hilarious in 0.2 seconds flat. So when they told me they wanted fall vibes for their engagement session, I knew a pumpkin patch was exactly the right call. We picked a beautiful October day—overcast skies, crisp air, and the perfect cozy backdrop for these two goofballs in love.
But before we get to the pumpkin-flinging and laughter, let’s rewind a bit, because their story is straight out of a college rom-com.
They met back in 2016 at UNE during orientation. Morgan didn’t think much of it at the time, just one of those random “nice to meet you” encounters. But fate (or the universe with a wicked sense of humor) decided to have a little fun and put Chris in the dorm room next door. Morgan said she didn’t believe in fate until that moment, but, well… it’s hard to ignore when it literally moves in next to you. They became best friends, and before long, best friends turned into forever kind of love.
Fast forward to November when Chris popped the question in true bird-nerd fashion at the Biddeford Bird Sanctuary. The story? Pure gold.
It was a cloudy, drizzly 6:30 a.m. morning. Chris had planned to propose somewhere else, but things shifted, so he improvised—with style. He told Morgan that two snowy owls had been spotted (which, let’s be honest, is the perfect bait for a bird lover). Morgan said she almost didn’t go because it was early and she was exhausted, but Chris seemed so pumped that she rolled out of bed in sweatpants, messy bun, and acne dots still on. Relatable.
As they reached the overlook, Chris goes, “Isn’t it crazy we’ve been together for almost eight years?” and Morgan just thought it was a random nostalgic moment. Then he adds, “So bad news is there are no birds,” and she fires back with, “Then what the fuck are we doing out here?!”—only for him to pull out the ring box. He gets down in the mud, voice cracking (which apparently never happens), and says, “I’ve been waiting to do this for such a long time.” Cue ugly crying, a big YES, and the best engagement story ever.
Now back to the pumpkin patch.
Their session was one of those that starts with a little “we’re so awkward” warning and ends with belly laughs and way too many fun photos to choose from. We started with some easy walking shots to shake off the nerves, but honestly, they loosened up faster than I could adjust my camera settings. They joked, teased each other, and turned the whole session into a comedy show.
We wandered up to the pumpkins where they picked up funny-shaped gourds, played around like kids, and made each other laugh nonstop. Between the overcast sky, the pops of orange pumpkins, and the way they couldn’t stop smiling at each other, it was pure fall perfection.
These two are the definition of fun, and I already know their wedding is going to be just as full of love, laughter, and badass vibes.
Can’t wait to celebrate with them again soon—preferably with a pumpkin spice latte or two. 🎃
