Maine + NH Wedding Photographer | Jayce + Mike | Brick South, Portland Maine Wedding

From the second I walked into the hotel, it was clear this crew came to have a damn good time. Both sides of the wedding party were big, which meant energy, noise, and a whole lot of movement—basically organized chaos with a side of hairspray.

Jayce’s hair and makeup were handled by one of her best friends, who’s also in the bridal party. You could tell they’ve known each other forever—lots of laughs, zero stress, and just a fun, chill vibe. Over with the guys, there was the usual pre-wedding scramble: fixing ties, figuring out cufflinks, pretending they knew how to fold pocket squares.

Instead of braving the traffic and chaos outside, Jayce and Mike chose to do their first look in the hotel courtyard, and honestly, solid call. It was quiet, private, and just a cool moment for them to take a breath before the day kicked into high gear.

Then it was off to Brick South—one of my absolute favorite venues. I’ve shot there a number of times and it never gets old. The crew from Black Tie Catering and Planning was doing their thing, making sure every last detail was perfect before guests rolled in. The setup was killer—lots of little bud vases on the tables (which I’m obsessed with lately). It’s a trend I can totally get behind—minimal, clean, and still looks amazing.

We knocked out family formals just as guests started showing up. They grabbed a glass of champagne on the way to their seats—10/10 idea, by the way—and settled in for the ceremony. The vows were heartfelt but not overly sappy, just the right mix of emotion and personality. Then came the “I dos,” and it was go time for portraits.

We headed outside to the oceanfront for photos, and man, Brick South really does have it all—industrial backdrop, coastal views, and that killer Maine sunset. The sky put on a full show that night, and we soaked it up until the light dipped out. I wrapped up with some of my signature dramatic lit shots out front before we headed back inside for the party.

The reception? Pure fun. Toasts, dancing, and a room full of people who clearly showed up to celebrate hard. You could feel the support from everyone there, and it made the whole night just flow. We capped it off with a quick (and pretty hilarious) cake cutting before the dance floor took over again.

Jayce and Mike’s day was laid-back, full of energy, and exactly the kind of wedding I love shooting—zero drama, all good vibes.
