Maine + NH Wedding Photographer | Almost There! Wrapping Up the Wedding Season
I’m not quite there yet — my last weddings are in December — but we’re almost at the finish line. Shooting my last wedding of the season is always this weird mix of emotions. Bitter, sweet, and maybe a little bit of “thank god I can sleep in on a Saturday again.”
I absolutely love what I do. Getting to capture these stories, the chaos, the laughter, the teary first looks — it’s everything. But I also really love having my weekends back to hang out with my kids and husband, chill on the porch, and just breathe a little after months of go-go-go.
The end of the season always sneaks up on me, though. It’s not just the close of another calendar — it’s the end of warm weather, long golden hours, and all those crazy good wedding moments that make summer and fall so damn special.
What hits me the most, though, is saying goodbye to the couples I’ve spent a year (or more) getting to know. Watching them plan, stress, celebrate, and finally say I do — it’s a whole journey we go through together. I build a relationship with every one of my couples, and when their day is over, it honestly feels like a little piece of my year goes with it.
So yeah, we’re almost there. Just a few more weekends, a few more galleries to deliver, and then it’s time to cozy up for winter — maybe with a coffee in hand and a dog snoring on my lap — while I look back at another year of incredible stories.
Next year’s already shaping up to be even busier than this one, and I can’t wait. I’ll be teaching a few classes for fellow photographers during the off-season (which I’m so pumped about), plus I’ve got plenty of boudoir sessions lined up. The hustle never really stops — it just shifts a little. And honestly? I wouldn’t have it any other way.
